South Dorset’s very own high-energy rock trio In Solis have just dropped their second single “Mess” and it is a track that embraces freedom, spontaneity and a refusal to overthink.
The band – Fraser on vocals and guitar, Jonah on bass and Cam on drums – formed just over a year ago and are already building a reputation for electrifying live sets and songs that get crowds moving.
The Story Behind “Mess”
The idea for “Mess” came from something as ordinary as not wanting to tidy up. Fraser explains that the lyrics and melody spilled out quickly and naturally. Instead of forcing perfection, the band leaned into the moment, running through the track a few times until it clicked. That carefree approach is what gives “Mess” its raw, unfiltered energy.
“We hope that the easiness of the song resonates with people,” they say.
“We are really proud of this one and love performing it. Just don’t read into it too much… that would be overthinking.”
Building a Sound with Bite
In Solis channel influences from 70s folk rock right through to the heavy riffs of the 90s and beyond, blending their inspirations into something fresh for today’s audiences. Their debut single “Fifty Jobs” introduced fans to their style back in July and now “Mess” takes it up another notch.
